Double Duty at Attica

The “Thriller” lived up to his name Friday night at Attica Raceway Park! Jamie piloted the Ken Bodkins owned #00 410 sprint as well as the RFR #26 305.

This was Jamie’s first time back in a 410 in about 12 years. He qualified 6th fastest among his heat race group. In the 305 he was 2nd quick overall with a 13.984.

Started 6th in his 410 heat and had good speed but was forced to pull off before the checkers flew, due to an engine issue. He went 3rd to 2nd in the 26 car.

The issues with the 00’s engine were addressed and he rolled off in the 23rd starting spot for the feature. On lap 2 Jamie spun which brought out the caution.

After testing the limits he settled down & got to work ripping the cushion to perfection. When he crossed the finish line the 00 had advanced 13 spots which resulted in a $100 bonus for hard charger!!!!

Started 7th in the 305 Amain. Moved up to 4th in just a few laps, but the momentum was put on hold as the 2nd & 3rd place cars were slamming wheels and a wreck looked to be in the making.

As soon as they straightened out and the coast was clear Jamie made quick work of snagging the 3rd position. He then closed in on the top 2 and was able to take 2nd on lap 22.

With the leader getting held up by lap traffic. Jamie closed the gap in no time. On the last lap the leader went to the bottom in turn 3 & 4 as The Thriller went to the very top.

It was a drag race to the finish and the 26 came up just short of the win.
